As time goes on it is becoming more and more widely recognised that being able to win at sport is significantly affected by mental attitude. In fact most athletes, sportsmen and women will tell you that the 'inner game' of their chosen sport is where all performance starts. Without a solid 'inner game' there is no chance of being able to perform to high level on the outside.
This principle of improving what you do on the inside in order to improve how you perform on the outside has been known for quite some time now. In fact, there is something called 'The Law of Correspondence' which dates back many thousands of years and states 'As within, so without. That your outer world (ie your job, the amount of money you earn, how you perform on a day to day basis etc...) is merely a reflection of your inner world (ie your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes) and, if you want to make a change on the outside, you must first make a change on the inside.
While this is relevant in every area of our lives, it has particular relevance when it comes to achieving a high level of performance in sport consistently. Now, if you are an athlete, sports person or sports coach, you will fully appreciate that the key phrase here is 'consistently'. One of the main critical factors to becoming successful in your chosen sport is to not just produce a high level of performance every now and again, when the time or conditions are right, but to be able to do it consistently.

The optimum number of sessions tends to be between 3 and 5 sessions with a gap of 1 to 2 weeks between each session.
